Judging by most marriages, opposites really do attract. Spouses often have different perspectives on the same situation, different reactions to the same event, different ways to solve the same problem. And it is the differences between the two that make them a better team. They are better together.

Make your marriage more fun, healthy, and fascinating by understanding that the differences between you and your spouse are gifts from God. This 6-week small group study teaches biblical roles in marriage and lest you see your partner as a teammate, not an opponent. Learn to trust and be trusted. This study is wonderful for engaged couples, newlyweds, and those married for years.

The marriage small group will start on Sunday, September 19 at 6PM and will meet every other week.

Enrollment is limited to 14 persons per group.

Everything revolves around Him, God is loving, not conceited, when He calls us to worship Him. His pursuit for glory and our pursuit of joy are not at odds because God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him.

Starting in September, groups will meet on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights at various homes in the Mandeville and Covington area.

Enrollment is limited to 14 persons per group. Contact the church office to find a group meeting in a time and location that is convenient for you.

BIBLICAL PARENTING CLASS
starting September 15 from 6:45-7:45 PM.

The HEART is the target of biblical parenting not behavior!

Our 9 week DVD based, discussion-oriented, “Shepherding a Child’s Heart” class will equip you well for this kind of parenting. We want both fathers and mothers to come if you can.

Location: Basher’s - Kempo Gym just 2 blocks from the church on HWY 190 above Coles Party Rental.

And then evaluate your life your life against the standard Jesus holds high and ask: Does my life show that I’m part of His kingdom?

Do you want your kids to grow spiritually, find treasures in God’s Word and have a blast doing it?  If so, AWANA is perfect spot to plug in! This awesome program provides material for you to help nurture your children at home through Scripture memorization. Then, on Wednesday nights, we all come together to learn vital truths from God’s Word, recite the verses we’ve learned throughout the week, and fellowship through games and other age-appropriate activities.

*** Trek clubbers will study their books independently. On club nights they will serve as helpers in younger clubs and will will have opportunity to recite Trek verses and pass sections. Questions concerning this change for 2010-11 should be directed to the Awana Comanders.

Mentoring is a one-on-one encouraging, supportive, friendship relationship. The “Titus Mom” is a Christian woman who shares and role models the Christian life with a sister in Christ who is spiritually younger. Christian mentoring is sharing how the Lord helped us through life experiences and offering encouragement and assurance that He is there for her too. Mentoring is coming alongside another woman and teaching her to to get to know and trust the God of the Bible.

1 Thessalonians 2:7-8, 12 beautifully depicts a the of mentoring. “We were gentle among you like a mother caring for her little children. We loved you so much tat we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us…encouraging, comforting, and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into His kingdom and glory.”

“Titus Daughters” are women who are growing in their faith and feel they need a godly role model. They need someone who will help them understand how to live as a Christian woman, mother, wife, daughter, sister, or neighbor. The responsibility of a Titus Group Member (daughter) is to: Make a commitment for the session - September to April. Attend group meetings regularly, not to miss two in a row. As a courtesy, to advise the Titus Mom if unable to attend. Complete any assignments given by the Titus Mom.

We all would admit, getting to know one another better is something we need to do (Acts 2:46). So, let’s gather together to watch the first Saints pre-season game. Each of us should bring some food and drink to share as well. Two Saints vs Chargers pre-season tickets will be give away as a door prize.
